  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I drive a 2013 R-spec and have noticed that the right (passenger side) high pressure fuel pump is somewhat louder than the one on the left. You can actually feel the vibration in the high pressure fuel line, but, I don't notice the same vibration at idle on the left one.

I viewed the video posted by "home of stone" explaining the operation of the 5.0 Tau engine and the video indicated only one pump is used at low engine loads and was wondering if anyone had anymore info regarding this? Does the right one run all the time and the left one is actuated upon increased load?

I realize they are driven from the camshafts and I assume the control valve on each pump opens and closes to vary the amount of fuel that may be supplied to the pump and thus to the fuel rail.

Has anyone noticed that their right pump is louder (at idle) than the left one?

Sorry about the long rambling -- just wanted to hear your observations and additional info.

Thanks so much in advance.

I would agree that's probably the reason.
