Audio Issues

Hey everyone, had my g70 3.3t for a few months and I have noticed that every so often the following happens with the audio system:

- audio cuts out when changing drive mode
- audio cuts out when adjusting power seat
- crackling noise from audio system when using apple car play. Fixed by unplugging/plugging back in

These issues are intermittent but curious if anyone else has experienced this?

Never experienced it, that's pretty odd.

Only thing I can think of is when you do both those things it pops up on the display. Maybe that pop-up is interfering with the audio somehow.

Have you tried resetting the infotainment?

That crackling noise sounds like a possibly bad connection, probably your cable. Worth a check. Good luck.

yes. Have you tried the latest infotainment update? I have not.

That crackling noise sounds like a possibly bad connection, probably your cable. Worth a check. Good luck.

No, this guy is correct, mine does the same thing. Have unplug the phone and plug it back in. Some sort of driver issue (software drivers that is).

I had this same issue with the noise crackling in my 2019 G70 3.3T - I just got a 2020 G70 3.3T and have not experienced the same issue with the same cable.

jax, did you trade in on a better version of the car or something? I have a lot of issues, and I am thinking of doing that.

Yes - All of the above. Using latest update, so not that. Almost every time I go into Sport Mode, the audio cuts out when using Car Play.
Also, randomly, the Audio System will not boot...Period. Super annoying. The car has to be restarted twice to get it to kick in the last time it did that.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Interesting that some others have experienced this. I think it seems to be more prevalent with car play rather than android auto. The seat adjustment issue seems to happen on any audio input. Didn't think to check for an update until it was suggested here. I did check last night and it looks like there is one so I will do that first.

Hey so back in the day both Stinger owners and some G70 owners experienced this issue. It was caused by the setting that shows the changes you are making in the gauge cluster. Can be fixed by changing drive mode setting to only show an alert and not the graphic that shows the changes to the car, and removing the setting that shows the seat changes.

Havent heard of anyone with these issues for a long, long time so it could be related to the fact that you are running an old version of the software

I did that, problem still occurs, especially when I leave the phone plugged in, restart the car, often the output is garbled and I need to unplug and re-plug the device.

Lol, I know. They are mostly worked out, and I still love the car, haven't given up on it yet. Everytime I get mad, I think about how cheap the car was to purchase, I got it for a super low price, and obviously for good reason. The basics are great, has no issues with driving or handling or speed, ride, etc. Brakes, Sunroof, squeaks and rattles all worked out, just have little niggling issues like electronics updates to do, and maybe pursuing Genesis to fix my headliner (replace). Lol. Which is a big deal I guess. I'd love to trade in on a 2022 or 2021 with no issues. I asked Genesis to help me and crickets. I need to talk to people on this forum who received a buyback, and then a new genesis. These are - for most people - great cars, and I still believe in the company and their products, I just cheaped out and bought an early, early build. I could have spent a few thousand more and gotten a 2020 with no issues, sadly.

Might sound dumb but ensure that "mute" is not enabled.
Otherwise I'd recommend updating the system for free via the SD Card and a computer. If it still is silent after that, make an appointment to have it looked at under warranty.
