Audio System Reset???

I pulled a USB stick while it was still playing and then tried my IPOD. The system just kept saying it was "reading" the IPOD, but wouldn't go any further than that. Yesterday the IPOD worked, but I hadn't used a USB stick yet.
I seem to recall reading something on this forum about this sort of issue, but can't find it. I believe a "reset" of some kind was the solution.
Can anyone help or did I just "imagine" the solution.
Only had the car for 5 days - we're still learning:))

A "reset" would be turning your car off for 3 to 5 minutes and then turning it back on.
