  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Every second or third time I start the car, after a couple of seconds, the audio turns on and I hear a thump in the speakers. Is this unusual or just a design fault ? I have a 2012 R spec with the 17 speaker Lexicon system. I'm taking the car in for servicing soon, but I don't want to have the dash ripped open with the normal rattles that start after that if all I'm going to get is a new unit with the same problem.

I have the same car and have never experienced that. I'd take it in.

That is typically the sign of a dying amplifier. I have had this happen with custom stereos for years. Sometimes the stereo can live it's entire life with an amp thunk

ditto, an issue with the grounding of the oem amp, or some kind of fault thats cuasing internal resistance load issues...

if its under warranty, a simple swap of the amp should fix it.
