  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 - 1,015
G80 - 544
G90 - 198

A slight improvement from the prior month.

When the new G80 launches, would not at all be surprised if it outsells the G70.

Australia - 19
G70 - 7
G80 - 12

Thanks for the numbers. I do believe that sales for the G80 will eclipse the G70 approximately 60 days after its debut. Assuming the car is well received with a value-driven price point.

It was nice to see the Hyundai Palisade numbers eclipse 5,000 units in August. With the success of the Telluride and Palisade, I'm curious to see how the GV80 performs - hopefully with favorable reviews and a more expansive dealer network.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Any ideas when the 2020 G80's will actually be out? I'm hearing next year but will it be early next year? Also is it a basic refresh or redesign?

With the sales of the G80 and G90 so low right I'm sure the patience of the dealers is being tested. On a per dealership basis the average sales per store is very small. The good ones though no doubt are looking towards the future.

Korea - 4,581 (40,993 YTD)

G70 - 1,471
G80 - 2,071
G90 - 1,039

Stinger - 262
K9 - 800

Lexus has been selling at a similar pace in Japan - 4,593 (41,277).

But the only 2 Lexus models which regularly break 600/month in sales have been the UX and ES.

Figure the next best seller is the NX, followed by either the RX or IS.

In their respective domestic markets, Genesis definitely sells a good bit more of its higher-end models.

Well, there have been (top trim) Palisade and Telluride owners wishing for more luxury and power.

While not necessarily transitive, the refreshed Mohave (aka Borrego) already got 7k in pre-orders when Kia was anticipating selling 20k/yr.

We just got brochures in for the 2020 G80. Unfortunately, it hasn't changed. I'm suspecting the 2020's are going to be a short run, then the 2021's will be out early/mid next year. Only difference I see on the 2020's is they added Mallorca Blue to the G80 Sport.

That's good news for those of us with 2015 to 19 as they are not outdated yet. Yay, we still have the latest style.

The G90 (assuming its mostly the facelifted version) absolutely crushed the LS 500 in sales in Canada this past month - 27 to 4.

Canada - 143
G70 - 86
G80 - 30
G90 - 27

Unless there is some sort of issue to explain the big drop in G70 sales, afraid the tight rear is crimping sales (which usually is less of an issue up north).

The IS (241) handily outsold the G70, as did the Stinger (175).

G80 sales are down (and way down when it was known as the Genesis sedan), but still outselling the GS by multiples.

Don't think the facelifted G90 sales in relation to LS sales will entirely translate over here, but wouldn't be surprised if the G90 ends up giving the LS a good scare.

And here's an interesting instagram post by Motor Trend's Leiberman.

If true, that would help explain Toyota's paltry investment in new products for Lexus, esp. its higher end RWD models, in addition to doing things on the cheap (such as not bothering to extend the wheelbase for the RX-L).

Lexus is going to be in big trouble if the new G80 is a winner. They still don't listen to anyone on their forums and continue with that ugly front end. Luxury should lean more towards understated elegance...be timeless looking....like a blue pin striped suit. It never goes out of style.

More companies should do focus group studies to find out what the public wants. Obviously, they must feel they don't need to do that. Real story?? I think someone very high up the corporate ladder at Lexus likes the big grille, and doesn't care that most of the public finds it to be "over the top".

Genesis has a much better "luxury look" to me. More refined... conservative...classy. If they prove to be as reliable as I think they will be...Lexus is in big trouble. Time will tell.

After back to back Lexus' they lost me as a customer when they rolled out the big spindle grill.

The new ES ES350 & Hybrid is doing well for them though, even with all of the sales SUV's are generating. Thru August they've sold over 34,000 (+18%) and sold over 5.600 (+16%). for the month. The GS and LS not so much. Neither one is selling very well right now.

The new ES 350 looks better this year. Wider stance, better looking "waterfall" grille too...but not much better. However, I test drove one and it was a slow shifter. The GS was MUCH better. I have no idea why. Maybe because GS is rear wheel drive??

Imagine how nice the ES would look if they had a front end more like a Jaguar or Volvo. But ....somehow, I don't think we'll see any good taste from them. The new Avalon looks like a damn whale shark!!! Too bad...it is a decent car.

I like the looks of the Genesis G80 much better...and it is a nice drive too!!!
