  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Auto climate control

I live in Arizona where it is really hot in the summer. During the day it's fine to blow at full speed what I am saying is that the fan speed does not reduce when it's freezing cold inside the car unless I get a call through bluetooth in auto mode. My understanding of auto mode is when it gets cold enough the fan should reduce it's speed.

Ahh, yes it should. What do you have the temperature set to? Mine is 72 and with temps well into the 90's it will slow the blower quite a bit. If you have the temperature set very low it will not slow it down.

I noticed when it's in auto mode and I set my temp to 65 AC light turns off. Does it still mean AC is working?

IIRC in Auto the only lights that come on are the Auto and the Recirc/Fresh air light.. Car is not at body shop so I can't go verify, but IIRC that is the way it works..

AC/Heat turns on/off based on the temp sensors and the set temp it is trying to maintain.

Ah ok. What is iirc?

and I was right..

Auto, Sync (if enabled) and Recirc are the only lights on when in Auto. AC/Heat turns on and off as needed based on sensors and setting, no lights though.

i.e. @ 70° setting with outside/inside sensors read car temp greater than 70° = AC, outside/inside temp lower than 70° = Heat.

Ah ok thank you!

Ah ok thank you!
So in auto mode when I set my temp to 70 when it's over 90 outside. Will it blow coldest AC air and when outside is below 70 will it blow hottest air to reach my desire temp?

yup, same way a house or business HVAC system works.

the temp you set it the temp it maintains 'automatically' switching between the hot and cold function of the HVAC system

Ahh make sense now. Thank you

Does anyone know how to change the which vents are used while using "AUTO" mode? Mine just uses the feet vent while on AUTO mode and I'd like the bi level??

it is "AUTO" - AUTOMATIC. Artificial Intelligence decides which vents it blows the air. You can manually change the vents using the button. It will switch AUTO to off. However, if you don't change the fan speed, it will still automatically keep your desired temperature and control your fan speed. When you press the fan speed button, it completely shuts it off.
