  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The auto fold on the drivers mirror on my 2013 R-Spec has broken and so I need a replacement. There are a few options on these mirrors so before I try and establish whether my mirrors are "auto dim" does anyone know whether all the 2013 R-Spec cars have auto dim? I have had the car 3 months and I have not had a car head lights on full beam behind me in that time. Thanks in advance

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I believe my 09 mirror says auto dim on the drivers mirror. Idk if your mirror is completely missing or not. If not, look for the words Auto dim on the mirror glass itself. Is your rear view mirror auto dim?

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't even looked!

If the outside is auto dim then the inside will be but I haven't experienced that function during the few weeks I've had the car. I now have to decide whether to spend $500 to $600 on a new auto dim/heated/auto fold mirror or just remember not to operate the auto fold. At least it's in the right position right now but if I accidentally activate auto fold it will get stuck out of position and hard to move back.

We lived without auto fold mirrors for the first 100 years of automobiles. If it was me, for $500 on a 10 year old car, I'd put tape over the switch to keep them from folding.

The problem is if I hit the key fob lock or unlock twice it sets off the auto fold. I tried taking out the fuse but the documented fuse is not the right one.

My threaded gear on the drivers side mirror smoothed out, so the auto fold no longer worked, but at speed the mirror would fold back a little. I used a little black sugru along the mirror joint to keep the mirror from moving at all. The passenger mirror still auto folds back fine. I have a 12 r-spec with 104k miles on it.
