I just had my trunk opening mechanism on my '15 Ultimate replaced under warranty.
I opened the trunk with the exterior handle four days ago, and when I attempted to close it w/ the button in the trunk, it closed but didn't latch, and the hazard lights blinked about 10 times.
I drove it to the dealer and they ordered a replacement mechanism. The good thing about my dealer visit was that they fit me in w/o an appointment; the bad - it took an hour and a half for them to look at it and tell me that they didn't have the part in stock, and to come back in a couple days when the part came in.
In the meantime I was driving the car w/ the trunk closed but not latched, so every time I went over an expansion joint or fairly large bump in the road, the trunk would attempt to latch and the hazards would flash. No telling what the drivers behind me thought.
Besides that I was concerned about carbon monoxide getting in the cabin (though there was no exhaust odor), and the battery draining if the trunk light didn't shut off when the car was parked, but it turned out that neither of these was a problem.
Anyone else have this problem? I searched but didn't find anything.
