  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pulled my car into the garage last week and 20 minutes after walking into the house I saw light in the garage. (The entrance door to the house from the garage has a glass insert). To my surprise the headlights were still on! Walked into work Monday morning and 30 min later had a co-worker ask me if my headlights turned off automatically. Checked and they were still on! Taking the car into the dealer Friday to have the brakes done and they are going to check it out. Is this a known issue? 2010 3.8 Premium with Navigation.

I believe that there is another thread about the switch for the headlamps. I seem to recall that this switch can become defective, and will need replaced. I am having a similar situation with my '10 Genesis. The driving lights do not work on auto position, works fine on parking and full lights. One time I left switch on auto, and discovered a dead battery after one week. I now always turn off the lights. When I go in for 90,000 mile check up, very soon, I will have this looked at.

Thanks Sirbuster.

I've searched lights, auto lights and automatic lights and found nothing.

Since my post and the following lack of response I've had the car into the dealer. They are going to be replacing the radio (a few pixels have gone out PLUS another intermittent issue), the window switches (auto function goes out intermittently) and a sensor on the dash they say controls the auto headlights. The warranty company is resistant to change the head unit and I'm waiting for them to send an inspector to the dealer to verify what the pics we sent obviously show. I'm hoping this sensor change solves the auto headlight issue. I've been used to the auto headlight function as my last few cars have also had it. I'm consistently forgetting to turn off the lights and it's bound to lead to premature battery death.

Thanks for chimming in!
