Automatic playback of iPod when iPhone plugged in

Does anyone know why my iPod music starts playing automatically as soon as I plug in my iPhone to the car? Is this an iPhone setting or a Genesis stereo setting?

Strange thing is that it seems to always start playing the same song, regardless of what I was last playing. It's kind of annoying, particularly if the song that starts playing has cuss words at the beginning.

Any help?

It starts playing because you're "introducing" it as your choice of media. No different that an AM station playing if that's where you were when you shut down.
As for your cuss song, that's the first song (alphabetically) in your iPod/iPhone. It will play alphabetically until you select something different. Either remove that song or hit the button for the next song.
