  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

New to posting. Does anyone have any information about changing the transmission from an automatic to a manual, or where to find information.

I have a 2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan 3.8. I assume that the genesis coupe transmission and assembly would work, but I am unsure!

I also know that it makes more sense to buy a vehicle with a manual transmission. However, I am keeping this car “until the wheels fall off.” So I might as well do what I want with it.

Thank you

Would appreciate the help

Hi, I would also like a little more infomration on this. My transmission is failing for the second time now and don't want to deal with that this time around. I'd personally prefer a manual and am also planning to drive this car until the wheels fall off

in my experience with other platforms, its going to be significantly more cost effective to find a different car with a manual.

Since the sedan didnt come with a manual, it is going to require a lot of custom tuning that I have no idea if anyone even supports on the sedan. Not to mention a lot of custom fabrication and making it work through trial and error. If youre a great mechanic and fabricator and have a big budget, can make it work, but if youre having a shop do it, youre going to spend a lot more than the car is worth.
