  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Press either the close and lock buttons and the trunk starts going down. As it gets to the point when it should go down the last bit, it stops. The tailights flash and the car beeps (not the horn) eight times. Repeated attempts yield the same result. Checked and there is no impedence. Have an appointment scheduled at the service department tomorrow.

Same problem here started in the last few days.
My vehicle is the 2015, 3.8 Ultimate. Although we sometimes get the flashing and beeping, we instead get no warning until we start moving. At that point the driver's display screen simply shows a trunk open graphic until we do something about the problem. We discovered that firm pressure downward on the trunk results in the latching process completing its task. I know, I know. I need to get into service, but the problem has been intermittent . . . an excuse for hours of wasted time in service with the inevitable . . . "couldn't duplicate issue." Ugh. I'm assuming the worst here, but service folks are as predictable as the tides.

Thankfully the fix was as simple as the mechanic resetting the electrical system. Trunk closes and secures with both buttons again. I believe what he did was toggle through the options on the screen between the speedometer and tachometer until he got to the reset section.

I figured I might try to get to the same reset section using these options screens. Never did find it. However, I did manage to toggle off/on my Auto-trunk. I also discovered that not only can I open the trunk, but holding the dash trunk button causes it to close . . . from my drivers seat. Who knew? Anyways, my problem is now solved, for now. Something as simple as forcing the mechanism to cycle may resolve this error. We'll see.
