  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Autoweek Rankings

Pretty impressive for a first go! The car stands on it's own regardless of price. Add in price and it's an amazing value. Unbeatable really.

That won't change the opinions of brand snobs, sadly.

I love when you smoke a brand snob in their Benz or Beemer and they have the “how the f$%k did that happen“ look on their face. 😳
I live for that, lol.

Likely true. But Thuck Fem. My car probably gets a lot more looks than theirs.

I think we should be #3 better than 3 series, but stinger should be a lot higher at least 5 or 6.

I think it's pretty close in the top 4. I parked beside an M340i the other day and objectively like the looks of the G70 more. On the interior, it could go either way. The 3 series engine's are excellent from what I read. The G70's are really good. The G70's tech is straight forward and easy to use, the 3 series not so much.. Same with the C43.. pros and cons. Either way, there is no wrong answer... just depends how much you're willing to pay.

What's your thinking that the G70 is above the 3 Series?

BMW has had decades to refine the NVH (noise, vibration, harshness), power, and torque characteristics of their inline 6 engines. Heck, even they've admitted that they've tried many times to create V6 engines in the past but could never approach the inline 6. From what I've read, 60 degree V6s have inherent vibrations due to vibrations that are transferred through the block when the pistons fire. I therefore wouldn't be surprised if even when the 3.5 V6 rolls around, Genesis is unable to match some aspects of BMW's inline 6 in a V6, particularly NVH. That being said, there's room for improvement in NVH as well as power and torque over the 3.3, otherwise wouldn't have invested the couple hundred million necessary to build the 3.5 when they already had the 3.3. TLDR: I think the 3.5 will be an improvement over the 3.3 in every way: size, power, NVH, torque, cooling, durability and perhaps even packaging. Current G70 owners are likely to be a bit envious.

With that being said, it probably won't quite match the BMW inline 6 (at least in terms of NVH), but all it needs is to come close. With the improvements in electronics and interior features, I believe the next set of reviews will be pretty positive for the Genny.

Yes when factor in price and reliability.

Well, just remember that a Buick could cost more than a Rolls and was considered the epitome of luxury not too long ago.

It takes time and patience.... Two things many business don't have.
