  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been trying to get quotes for a V-6 with a premium package but not the tech package. One dealer quoted but a second suggested that vehicles with that specification are not available. Has anyone had this experience? Anyone specially ordered and, if so, how long did that take?

I don't know what the current situation is, but in Feb 2010 when I purchased my 2010 3.8 with Premium and Nav (no tech) there was no shortage of them in my area (DC/Maryland).

To the best of my knowledge it is not possible to order a specific car from Hyundai - you can only request that the dealer check the US inventory to see if one that matches your requirements is available.

My own recent experience was difficulty in obtaining a 4.6 in a specific color. Three local dealers I contacted said there were "none in the area". Area included adjoining states. I then went to cars.com and searched independently finding four examples within 500 miles. Suggest you go nationwide in your search and see what you can find.

My dealer looked and eventually found one 500 miles away in the spec and color of my choice, so your dealer should at least be looking for a car, or contact a dealer that will imo.

Definitely available. Check autotrader, vehix, cars and yahoo cars. Any model with a sun/moon roof has Premium package. Premium + includes the premium package and 18" rims that are different from base model 17" rims. If a car has parking assist or navigation, it has the technology package also, which requires the premium + package!

Some options, exterior colors, and leather color in certain combinations are extremely difficult to find. This has always been a problem with Hyundai. Decisions on what is made are done in Korea with little if any input from the USA.

For example the new Sonata in Venetian Red was advertised to death and shown in the sales brochure but was basically not available because Korea for some reason decided not to make US spec red Sonatas or decided not to ship them.

Yes it can be frustrating and annoying but that's the facts.

No you cannot special order a car from Korea as the dealers are not allowed to accept customized orders nor will the factory accept them. My own car took over 5 weeks to obatin and still wasn't exactly what I wanted. The wood trim was mahoigeny instead of walnut.

I was looking for a 2011, 3.8L with the Premium package but not the Tech Package.
Dealer did not have one and said he could not order it but basically took what Hyundai had available or assigned to them.
They found 3 that I wanted but were 600 miles away.
Anyway, they made me a deal on the Tech package and I bought one they had in stock at the dealer.
