  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Average age of Genesis owners?

65 here and I have to admit I didn't know about this car either, although I remember hearing that name somewhere in the past.

I'm not ready for the larger sedans (G80 and G90) yet, although I'm sure I'd appreciate their room and comfort. If I had the space for another vehicle or two, I might want one. It would be great for long trips (although I'm presently considering taking a 911 across country - kind of the opposite, haha. The lure of driving a sports car on all those great roads out west is irresistible.)

The 911 would be great on some roads but the G90 is better for getting there. The long straight flat stretches across the interstate you want comfort. You can nap a couple of hours and not miss even a curve in the road.

Very true. I clearly need a shape-shifting car, haha.

32 - My first luxury vehicle and really enjoying it. Just wish I had sprung for the bigger motor since I'm getting the same fuel economy. But that is still another 10k saved right?

The bigger engines are a big chunk of cash there days. Years ago to go from the 6 to a V8 was about a hundred bucks. You really don't get to use the extra power all that often. Hard to justify.

I got the small engine but I am happy with it. It has all the power I need. What kind of gas millage are you getting in your 2.5? I get in the low 20's around town, better on the highway. I thought the 3.5's were getting around 17 locally.
But bottom line, I took what was available. I really wanted a GV70

I’m just a speed junkie which is why I miss it lol. I had a baby and sold my motorcycle so treated myself with the GV. I have no real need for the extra power just the desire. But you’re right - I also got what was available.

I’m also averaging about 21mpgs overall. A good mix of city and highway.

I love, love my GV70, 3.5 Sport Prestige. Husband said "you should get a car with bells and whistles. You will like it more than kitchen remodel". He has a red G70, and likes HUD (heads up display), and stereo among other things. I wanted to return to owning a SUV, test drove several models and the GV70 stole my heart. The comfort, quality, technology and all the bells and whistles. A lot more fun than a new kitchen! I was smitten. Don't know how I came home with a 3.5, but hubby reminded me "wouldn't you rather have a White SUV". No white GV70 on the lot, Sales 🤔 found one somewhere and had it delivered next day and it was 3.5 (I did not know 2.5 from 3.5. I would have been happy with either). I call her "Snowball", she is so 😍 beautiful. My age, 79! I'm a good driver according to most, don't speed, but not shy either.

I’m 44 and just purchased a GV70 3.5T Prestige and absolutely love it! Haven’t seen another on the road where I live and see people looking at it as I drive all the time. Couldn’t be happier!

I’m 76. I bought the GV70 after owning 3 Audi A5’s. It was getting too hard to get into & out of the A5. I may now buy a Miata since the hip replacement surgery has been successful!!

I'm 37 and ready to make my first new car purchase, hoping it will be a GV70. Unfortunately, its a full time job in itself to get one! I've been trying for weeks only to run into problems with the dealerships when its ready to make it official. I simply can't take more time away from work only to get yanked around by crappy dealers who don't seem to want to sell these cars.

You are correct that there are many crappy dealers. They are selling every one they can get though. This is a bad time to be a car buyer of most any brand. There are some threads here about finding them and hopefully will help you find a way to get one.

Thank you! I’ve been digging into the tips re: dealership throughout this forum. Boy what a process navigating these dealerships. Fingers crossed that the third time is the charm and I’ll have some good news to share in the coming days.

Just really curious!😏

G90 AWD 2017 5.0. My third Genesis/Equus - two over 130k miles. I'm 88 and going strong !

Soon to be 60. First true luxury car for me. Bought a well cared for used 2015 Sedan with 98,000 miles.

I am enjoying fixing all the quirkiness of this Car as Much as I enjoyed building and maintaining my first car: 1972 Dodge Charger 440 Six pack.

The group here has been a wonderful source for info.
