  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Avoid Traffic Drum (Cones) - At all cost with your GV60

Bruh. Holy cow. I would have absolutely lost my shnizzle looooong long ago! That is an extraordinary display of complete incompetence, easily satisfying negligence and breach of contract.

Time to lawyer'up, bro. Tell them they can keep the car to help pay your legal bills, the costs for which you will add on to the price of the replacement vehicle they're buying you.
LOL. What's a shnizzle?

I think there is a much more serious issue going on here. EV’s that I’ve seen have a lower ground clearance due to the battery pack location. There are plenty of nasty things scattered on roadways that can do similar damage and some items you can drive over are not as forgiving as a traffic cone. Think rocks, tree branches, etc. Darkness certainly compounds the risk when you are driving down the highway at 75 miles an hour. Personally, I would reject any vehicle that had lesser ground clearance than the traditional norm.

Here in the US I have seen both terms used. Genesis calls the GV60 an SUV but I think it is really a raised hatch. Either way, it has 6.3 inches of ground clearance which is substantially more than a sedan.

OP: good luck and hang in there.

I think he meant "shizzle", which could, technically, be any word starting with a "sh" sound. In this case he was using it as a scatological term. :)

I’ll take the 8.3” ground clearance on my ‘22 Tucson versus your 6.3” GV60. The GV80 has 8.1” clearance and the GV70 has 7.3.”

The major point is that the entire battery pack underneath EV’s is more susceptible to huge and expensive damage, much more so than any ICE vehicle.

To be very honest... the car is super and i just cant believe that Genesis (AKA Hyundai) will get bad press due to 1- Genesis Service Depart that dont have enough Mechanic who are not up to date with Electric cars... 2- Genesis Service AND Sales Depart that dont stand up for their customers in front of third party partners 3- third party Bodyshop partners that are also not up to date with Electric cars... 4- Genesis Canada higher managements first goal is to sale cars and totally forgot about after sale care and service... Genesis should change their "punch line" to ... Dont call (or email) us... will call (email) you... if, we ever care... enough.

Interesting fact, in 2015, i bough a new Hyundai Sonata ultimate and was required to involve the "PAVAC" since they (Hyundai) had to replace the RADIO/SIRIUS/NAV in dash module 5 times within 1 year because after connecting my Samsung phone for 1 1/2 months (bluetooth)... the NAV display was going "coucou" and they just could not figure out the problem. The CANADIAN MOTOR VEHICLE ARBITRATION PLAN (CAMVAP) forced them to buy the car back full price... plus taxes. You can see now where i am going with this...

Sorry its hard for me to see the damage, but if the damage is on the outside of the pinch weld your battery should be fine. I usually use a hard hockey puck like interface with a channel through the center that fits over the jack point pinch weld when I seasonally change my tires, works really well. Sounds like a really lazy technician as these adapter have been around for quite some time.

EVs (almost always) have a shield at the bottom of the vehicle to protect the battery pack to compensate for this.

There have been reports of VERY expensive damage despite such shields. I gather you haven’t read about this issue.

Here’s another story.

Here’s another story.

Am well aware of it.
I’m not sure this is a great example, as the indication is that the shield served its purpose, as the shield had minimal (mostly cosmetic) damage, and this was a wholly unnecessary vehicle scrapping.
I’m not suggesting that the shields are perfect, or that there isn’t increased risk - just stating that something exists to protect the pack.

How about some updates...
The car was repaired.... at Genesis (or whichever bodyshop they used) and botched... again...
Bumper re-installed... well... if installing a bumper like that is installing... and... they chip it on one of the side...

Cant wait to have this over with and get rid of it...

Is that much worse than factory fit? :)

My first GV60 had some pretty uneven panel gaps.
