AWD Coming in March for 2013 Genesis

So I was at the dealership picking up a part for my Genny and my salesman told me that AWD would be available starting in March for the 2013 Genesis. I was surprised as I thought this would not be available until at least the 2014 was out. Anybody else here anything on this?

I'll believe that when I see it. Adding AWD to the current Genesis body and drivetrain would be very, very difficult.

Now, a new 2014 model introduced in 2013 is more likely.

I have no idea how accurate this is but I was at my local Hyundai dealer today and when I asked for a brochure for the 2013 Genesis he said they did not have any more because they had produced less than normal. He then went on to attribute this to the fact that the 2013 was going to be a short run model, so fewer cars meant fewer brochures, and the 2014s were going to be out by August.

When I ordered my car in early December, I asked for a 2013 brochure. I was told that they had to send all of them back to Hyundai (erroneous mpg numbers perhaps). In early January, they had a new batch in.

If the 2014 Genesis was going to come out in March, I would also think that there would be a lot bigger rebates on the 2013's now.

I'd be very doubtful for a March release of AWD in the current generation chassis. Would be a big engineering change.

I'd more concur that the 2014s which are supposed to get AWD may be out "early" in the late summer/early fall.

That's what I was thinking - my salesman chuckled and said, "yea, I know, this is going to surprise people..." We shall see I guess...

About off by a year.

AWD won't be available until the 2G and that won't launch in NA until sometime early in 2014 (Korea launch the 2nd half of 2013).
