I live in Canada as well. I leased a Genesis 4.6 tech. My other choice at the time was a G35x. The Genesis was $60 pr month more, and had RWD.
Well, why lease this over the other?
I was basically blown away by the difference between th 2 cars. The G35x is a good car, but not really in the league of the Genesis.
Infiniti's closet competion, the M45 would cost close to $300 per month more than the Genesis.
So what about the RWD?
I thought long and hard on this. Last year we had an enormous amount of snow here in Montreal. We have hills. Icy conditions from time to time.
I went for the 4.6 mainly because it had limited slip. In addition, Hyundai threw in 4 Toyo snow tires (worth app $1,000).
I know that RWD had worked for years without too many problems. Therer are the days where you definitely want AWD. But how many are they really?
I figured about 15 days. Of that, about a third are days where you also leave the AWD at home.
So for 10 days out of 365 I have the inferior car, on the other hand, the other 355 are definitely to my advantage!
I can tell you that for the last 2 weeks I have enjoyed the car immensely, but still look forward to winter with some trepidation.
Some other things to consider:
No remote start. I have been told that they will have a remote start available by the end of November. Not counting on it.
Suspension: Not up to the rest of the car. The car has excellent dry road cornering, but doesn't like bumps and heaves.
After 2 weeks, would I still have done the deal? Yes. Amazing car.
Hope this helps.
