  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Why does smaller and lighter cars like Azera get less mpg than bigger, heavier Genesis, both being 6 cyl.? What would Azera do with genesis engine?

It could be engine power, it could be fuel mapping, it could be gearing, it could be tires, it could be a less advanced engine.

My wife has an Azera and I have a V8 Tech Genesis. She averages about 20 mpg and I average 22 mpg. However, on the highway, she gets 30 mpg and I get 28. I understand that the 3.8 engine in the Genesis is based on the Azera engine, except one is fwd and the other is rwd.

What mpg and acceleration ,etc. could Azera get with Genesis V6 setup?

All I know is that my Azera gets 15-16 mpg around town. TERRIBLE gas mileage.

Seems some dealers have mentioned the same thing. 2006 BTW - limited.

I traded a 2007 Azera Limited on my '09 Genny back in Aug., 08. I bought a V6 Premium-Plus (which has 18" wheels). I get about the same mileage on both cars (~22 mpg around town) with obviously similar driving habits. I liked both cars (until some @#$% hit the front end of my Azera while I was asleep one night--hit and run), but like the Genny much better.
