Yesterday my 2 day old Genesis was parked and I came out to find the entire back window spidered from top to bottom. The parking lot is next to a golf course. Noticed a point of impact toward the bottom, guessing a golf ball hit it. As soon as a door was opened and closed most of the window broke out.
I understand since this is a brand new redesign of a model that parts are hard to come by. I was told that no windows are now in the US and it may take three weeks for the part. Does anyone have any idea how I can get parts sooner? And what is the best way to keep the broken glass from scratching the paint?
Side note, I have a new Ford Explorer for a rental and I opened the sunroof this morning and noticed that the wind buffer that pops up is the same fabric and color as the Genesis and the buttons to open and close it are both the exact same in the Genesis and Ford, so Ford and Hyndai are both using the same sunroof manufacturer. Interesting.
