  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Backup camera lines

One of the Hyundai forum posts I saw (but not for Genesis) used the time off the clock in 24 h / military format. May want to try that?

Yeah, tried that too.
Since I’m quarantined, I’ve got a lot of time on my hands. Must crack the code....

Did you try the time in 24h format (5:00 pm is 1700h)? Don’t mean to insult your intelligence, but ju in case you didn’t try that I did see it work on someone’s Elantra.

Yes, tried that.

I bought my 2016 Genesis Ultimate in mid-February, 2020. It just loved holding my CD's hostage. Under warranty, the dealer replaced the radio. As a consequence, my rear view camera had double yellow lines and no top down option. I couldn't find anything in any of the manuals but I did find something on this forum. It was written on Sept 20, 2019 by Suburbazine(?). It said:

"Dual lines means your variant programming has gotten reset, usually from the battery being run dead or disconnected at some point. Just go into the dealer menu (hold center circle in System Info menu)>variants (code 6172)>System and check the box for "Park Assist 1" (I think) it will turn the line under it from "Rear Camera Only" to "PG5". Hit Send on the top right and you should be good to go after a reboot. And the easiest way to perform a reboot is to open the SD card slot on the radio face, press the SD card to eject it, then press it back in. You may want to peruse this list and ensure the relevant features are checked- the head unit and instrument cluster may not know all the features your car is equipped with. However, checking things that are not equipped or not for your region will introduce hilarious side effects that you are best not used."

With fearful apprehension, I followed the instructions. They worked! :):)

I wish it worked for me but I have the Technology package and the way to access the password screen is different. (You have to go into the storage menu and tap the left of the screen 5 times, then tap the right side once.)

I have tried every possible 4 number code I can think of. Variations of the current time, the time in Korea, east coast, west coast, mountain, GMT, Korea, dealership zip, phone #, 1111, 1234, 4321, 5678, 8765, 9876, 6789, 1111, 2222, 3333, 4444, 5555, 6666, 7777, 8888, 9999, and everything suggested in this and other Hyundai forums.

You have the Android based system which probably requires GDS to configure. I know there are "hacks" for it but I'm not sure how to do them.

Android based system? is that the 9 in screen? I bought my 2016 Ultimate a few months ago and I have the same problem. I actually liked the back-up camera in the '12 R-SPEC that I had better, but that's another story...

If you have an Ultimate it’s the Linux-based system, 9” screen with console knob. My instructions quoted above will work.

The 8” screen is the Android system. My instructions will not get past the first step here.
