  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

Just replaced my 2010 Genny with a 2013 and have noticed the camera seems to be of a lesser quality (or maybe it's the screen) than I had in my 2010. The image looks very muddied where as the older camera had a fairly clear picture even in the dark. Has anyone tried replacing it with something of a better quality?....thanks for the replies :)

I'm guessing that it's a proprietary camera and not as simple as finding one of the same size and replacing it, but thought it was worth asking.

I have a 2011, and the quality of the image is good - about the same that I've seen in other cars with backup cameras. Does the screen seem unclear when it's displaying anything other than the camera image (e.g., maps)? If so, it might be the display. If not, the camera lens could be at fault (either dirty or defective). Should be easy for your dealer to check in any case.

i have a 2013 rspec and mine is not that clear either. I havent looked at the lens, but i remember this from day 1

Make sure the dealer prep folks removed the protective stick-on plastic from the camera lens!
