  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Older driver, look fit but bad back after several low back surgeries (college varsity oarsman, 1960s). Currently drive 2002 Cadillac Deville). Would appreciate opinion Re used G70 or G90 and ‘softest’ year.

Well, I just sold my '22 G70 because it was killing my back. The 2 biggest issues I had were this: 1) Getting in and out of it was difficult because the B pillar was in front of the seat back so I had to maneuver around that pillar every time I got in and out and 2) The seat seemed to have a bulge right in the middle of my back which forced my back forward - convex shape instead of concave.

I am 6' tall so these issues may not affect someone that is shorter but I gave this a lot of thought before trading it for a 2 door BMW M240i. Since it is a 2 door, the BMW has no B pillar so it is much easier to get into and out of......As far as the comfort of the seat, so far it seems to be better. I do not feel the pressure in the middle of my back like I did with the Genesis.

I would drive several cars if I was you. Of course, the easiest to get in and out of are going to be SUVs and smaller trucks because you don't have to bend down to get into them. The worst are going to be smaller 4 door cars (because of the B pillar) and small 2 door true sport cars like a Miata, BMW Z4, Corvette, etc.

You might also look at a BMW 3 series if you need 4 doors. I drove several and I don't recall having as big of an issue getting in and out of it as I did with the G70. My memory is that the seat is far enough forward that the B pillar isn't in the way as much.

Welcome. I'm not sure about the G70 as it's a smaller car, but I doubt you'd have any comfort issues in a G90...

G70 seats are pretty good but I have heard of the odd person who can't get along with them. I haven't seen a review where they didn't like the seats. The G90 I'm sure would have excellent seat comfort.

I've also had low back surgery. Forget the sedan. Look at the GV70-80. Love my GV70 and zero issues getting in and out.
