  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bad Brakes!

27k on my factory rotors and pads - several hard stops thanks to the idiocy of chicagoland traffic. Still smooth as glass. Also have had 4x tire rotations. Zero issues.

If you're lucky enough to get a new car with few miles on it, you can bed the brakes yourself and maybe avoid some of these issues.

8-10 hard stops, back to back from 60mph down to 10 or so (NEVER to a full stop) should get them smokin and get a nice even layer from the pad to the rotor. Alas, I got a used car but thankfully no issues yet.

I will be glad when the lease is up because Hyundai presented a beautiful vehicle, which
imho isn't ready to compete with the luxury brands. As Lexus became a premium brand
back in 89. It had to completely separate it's brand philosophy from Toyota. As long as
a dealership services both Elantra as well as Genesis models, the standards can't rise higher than the lowest. In other words It's still a Hyundai, regardless of being debadged.

You can buy rotors and pads for your car for around $80 per side all the way up to $5000 from many locations. After a while I would have just asked them to reimburse me so I can just buy them myself.

I don't know what's going on in the US, but I highly doubt there are 2 rotors available in a country of 300 million.
