bad starter?

Hi guys,

So i've been having issues starting my cars since winter of 2018, but ive been lazy to fix the issue. I changed the battery back then and the problem still persisted. It would crank, and i would repeat stopping and starting the car until the engine starts working. A video is provided below to show the symptom

Yes, it was the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I had the starter changed and it wasnt the culprit

I'm going thru a starting issue myself and stumped since we don't have any active or stored codes for my mechanic to pull. It cranks multiple times and a cam or cranks sensor would make sense, however I think if it was going bad, I'd have a CEL if it read out of range at any point while driving.

Did you have any other indicators besides no-start?

To be honest, i didn't get a CEL until the car literally stopped on the road and to the point where it started taking like 10 minutes to start. When that started happening, EBS light turned on too. Everything went away with the crankshaft position sensor replacement

Gotcha. Mine cranks briefly, stops, cranks briefly, stops, etc. until I hit the button to turn it off.

Yup had to do that plenty of times in order for it to start. Would crank only and had to keep start and stopping the car

My 2015 is doing the same thing. I found that when its struggling to start and I take my foot of the brake pedal, it will start! And other times just like yours, it will start right up with no problem.
