  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I got the car I was suprised at the features missing and the features available. It doesn't have all the features of the tech package but does have real wood and aluminum trim. It only has the touch screen controls and doesn't have heated rear seats with the button to close/open rear shade from the backseat. The missing features don't bother me but there really isn't any videos of base 5.0 reviews so I figured I would point out what I have noticed.

The 5.0 never had the heated rear seats in any U.S. model, as there is no AWD version. The power rear shades were dropped for 2016, along with the Electronic Dampening Suspension.

Hyundai has eliminated the distinction between Genesis Base and Tech Package in 2016 for the V8. There is only one trim level for the V8 in 2016. However, the adjustable suspension is gone.

((((Base 2015 5.0)))
Yeah I heard about the rear shade and the dampening suspension being dropped in 2016. It is ridiculous they dropping rear shade, I find it one of my fav features. when I got inside the car for the test drive I was little suprised that some features of the 2015 tech pack v6 was missing. I thought they was identical.

All Genesis suspensions are damped. They are eliminating the adjustable suspension.

If you don't need the V8 power, the best equipped USA Genesis for 2016 is the 3.8 AWD Ultimate.

nobody needs the v8 power it's about price/fuel efficiency. I do agree the v6 ultimate is very nicely equipped. Only thing I don't like about the v6 ultimate is the fact that the rims have to be replaced (ugly) and it doesn't have the fog lights.

Yeah thanks for correcting my error

If you want to get picky then you also are incorrect as no Genesis has an adjustable suspension. Only the Equus had this. The 2015 had a CDC suspension which translates to Continuous Damping Control. This basically regulates the damping automatically to suit conditions. ;)

Lol really, I mean we all knew what I ment. I didn't even make this thread to talk about the(let me get this right) Continuous Damping Control, because we all knew it wasn't on the 2015 base v8 model. What gets me is how they didn't throw all tech pack features into base v8 2015. In all honesty they dropped most items I didnt care about(personally) and added the real wood and aluminum trim which I did care about. Also noticed a little more hard plastic here and there to cut cost.

The 2015 V8 Ultimate has a driver adjustable suspension with 3 settings (Eco, Normal, Sport). At least that is the case in the USA. I don't know about Canada.

One of the complaints of some reviewers of the 2015 V8 Ultimate (USA) is that the above user adjustment of the suspension also automatically changes transmission shift points, and they cannot be adjusted separately. This is probably why they dropped it in 2016, as reviewers seemed to like the non-adjustable suspension better for almost all driving.

I said 2016 = V6 Ultimates have fog lights!

Nice, I didn't know that. I never considered buying 2016 since I didn't want to wait for incentives to come along. It was a weird hole in their features, I'm happy they straightened it out.
