Base or tech package?

Hey guys, been lurking for awhile, gathering information before i make the leap into a used genesis. Wondering if there were any true advantages other than creature comforts to purchasing the tech package over a base model. I'm coming from an 05 Acura MDX touring addition which seems to be equipped similar to the genesis base model. I've done searches on here just really looking for some personal opinions from current owners.

My opinion is get the Ultimate or why bother.
Tech gives you better seats, smart cruise control, parking assist, extendable seat bolster, auto hold, auto emergency braking.

IMO, that is why you buy a luxury brand. I want all the goodies like the HUD in the Ultra. Your money, your choice.

You are going to live with the car for years so don't cheap out get the goodies at 1/2 price and really enjoy the car.

That's my thought process. I had an Base Infiniti at one point and was kicking myself for 3 years.

I have the Canadian tech package. I'd much prefer the tech over the base. Agree with the others, you don't buy a luxury vehicle without the goodies. Get the tech, you'll be happier.

Thanks guys, all of this is exactly what I am needing. I ask about the tech or base because that seems to be what’s available for the used market in my area. I have seen a few ultimates come through but they seem few and far between. I’m not in a rush so I’ll be patient and I’m sure an ultimate will show up eventually.

The thing that made me get the base instead of the ultimate was the crazy glass top they make you take on all cars except the base. I would get an ultimate for sure.
If you hate glass tops or sunroofs as I do, the base is the only option.

Ultimate. Best value. And whichever model you choose get a warranty that covers the electronics.

I think what gets me coming back to the base is the sunroof issue and the deadline for the class action suit and vin registration coming to an end on July 25. I'm sure that's something i could bring up with the dealer as part of the negotiation to ensure that's noted in case of future issues.
