  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a ‘22 base radio (not the premium lexicon) and do not see an amplifier in the trunk passenger or driver side. I only saw a fuse box. I am trying to add an aftermarket subwoofer and looking for the amp/wiring harness to tap into. Any help (especially pictures or video) is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Just checking back to see if anyone can provide any info on how to remove radio from dash and which wires are for which speakers of base system without amp in trunk. Thanks

I haven't installed anything in my g70 and I haven't looked at the fuse box before, but you should be able to add an aftermarket amp/sub with out getting to the back of the deck. If your battery is in the trunk, and you have rear deck tray speakers you can power everything and tap into the signal from there. If you need a remote signal turn on, in the past I would just tap into a spot in the fuse box for an accessory that turns on and off with the ignition i.e. audio or multimedia spot. Just make sure you use the right fuse type/amperage.

You will need an amp, sub, and a line output converter like an audio control lc2i.

***note that I am not a professional, but have installed a lot of stereos in my own or in friends cars and never had any issues. There are likely a lot more people on here that know a hell of a lot more than me***

Thanks for the reply but no rear deck speakers… Need to get behind the head unit. Only have door speakers.

No speakers behind the rear seat-rests either?

No rear deck speakers

I have a 2019 G70 Advanced. Door speakers only, no premium Lexicon sound system. No stock amp.

Installed a dual ‘10 subwoofer in the trunk. Pics attached.

I did not at all mess with headunit. Tapped into the rear passenger side door speaker wires for signal. Remove the doorway rubber seals to access the speaker wires.
Installed an amp on the backside of the rear passenger seat.
Ran a line from the amp all the way down under the driver side door seals and plastics to the driver footwell to place a subwoofer volume dial. Allows for fiber tuning of the sub than what I can accomplish by adjusting the bass in the tone settings in the head unit.

I had my doubts about how the sub would sound in the cabin, but turns out it sounds very nice. Crisp and deep lol. Good luck!

Thanks for the info and pics. I decided I’m gonna do the whole thing. Upgrading door speakers and adding subs. Got everything I need (I think) and will see about pulling that head unit. Your sub setup looks on point and maybe I’ll do just that part first and see if I’m happy with that before I do full install.

I put subs in all my cars and i wouldve never thought of tapping into the rear speakers for a signal.

Looks good! How did you know what cables to tap on the door for the speaker? Do you know what color wires to tap?
