  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Can anyone explain how to access the 12 volt battery in a 2024 e model equipped with the 48 volt battery? Thanks

You need to disconnect the 48v battery (3 cables on the right side), remove the 5 or so bolts (they are very tight). Lift the battery out and you will see your 12v battery. I have done it a few times.

Very much appreciated. Happy Thanksgiving

Another question. Will i lose all the settings in the car if the 48 volt battery is removed to access the 12 volt battery? Thanks

I watched my dealer replace my 12v battery and they did it without disconnecting the 48v. They simply unbolted the 48v and leaned it over on its right side and propped it up with a piece of 2x4 about a couple of feet or so long. That exposed the 12v which they removed and replaced. After the installation they had to reset my easy exit feature on all four seats.

I disconnected my 48v battery and removed it, nothing I know of changed.

Thanks for the advice
If you need the status of your 12v battery and the remaining charge you can run a shortcut and ask for data.

Follow this guy’s instructions for his Ioniq if you have an iPhone. All you do is download “scriptable” and follow his directions. It works for the G90 too.

Hit the button for Installation instructions if needed. Thought this might help troubleshoot.

He has some shortcuts you can add to your iPhone like Ask the Car….and you can put data in for the keyword, and it will return your 12V status.
