  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I'm sitting in the car waiting on something and with the radio on, I will get a "Battery Discharge Warning" message. It comes on almost right away and will come on every 2 minutes or so for maybe 3 seconds. Do I have a weak battery or is this business as usual? The car is new and I've had it one week today:D

Your battery is fine. The warning is just that.....a warning stating that the vehicle is heavy on the electric drain with all the toys, so you will kill your battery without the engine running if you continue long enough, although it could take a while for the battery to run that low.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
If it comes on right away your battery may have lost quite a bit of its amps. If it is a new car, which it looks like with your model and join date, you may just have a faulty battery.

I've only seen discharge warnings on batteries with less than half of their CCA. Or when the alternator goes bad.

I have a (new) 2013 bought a month ago. I get the battery discharge warning whenever the audio is on without the engine running. All is well...

To clarify, the OP is referring to the message on the nav screen and not the actual red battery indicator on the dash.

I figured it was just a warning to let the user know it is draining the battery after long use with out running the engine. Thanks to all and life is good!

OK, my experiences with the information center warning is on euro makes.

Yes, and no. For example, if you want to watch a DVD while sitting outside the 7/11, you will be interrupted by battery warning messages.

Has any one checked the water in the their battery? Does it need to be checked ever 6 or 12 months?

Thank,

Marty
