  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I own a 2016 Hyundai Genesis 3.6L V6 Ultimate. For about a month now my battery has died with no notice, no hard time starting, just dead on start-up. The first couple of times it happened, I got out, opened the trunk and tightened the nut that holds the battery in place (near the + but "not the positive nut"). At first, when I touched it, the car radio and AC would come on "full blast" without me doing anything. I'd tighten it up more and get into seat and it would start up. That happened about four or five times. Then the battery started to DIE completely this week. I couldn't get it started. I have a portable charger. It could not bring it back when fully charged. I have a 2007 Nissan Armada, it could not get jump it. Yesterday, I jumped it with a small Mercedes SUV. The battery is a DieHard that I purchased in Nov 2020. I had a 3-year warranty, so I thought "Let's use the warranty." Yesterday I swapped out the battery and as soon as I put the new battery in the car, it started up. Today, I came out at 2 PM to go visit a client. The car was DEAD. I tried the portable charger, it got me a trickle to allow me to open the doors but that was it as the car sucked all the charge out of it. The Armada couldn't jump it. So last resort, my wife's Mazda, CX-5. It almost immediately jumped it. I drove it back to the Advanced Auto and spoke with the guy. He thought it was an altenator, I think something else, a short, ground wire, fuse??? What could it be?
