  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I just replaced my battery today after having issues with my car dying and the battery light came on yesterday... Now that a new battery is installed when I turn my car on everything works perfectly for about 5-10 seconds then the battery light comes on, heated seats stop working and de froster all stop working 5 secs after start up. I get a reading of 14.5-14.7 V when car runs and 13.15 V with car off??? Please help, thanks 2009 Genesis 4.6 sedan

IMO 14.7 volts is too high. Maybe circuit protecting itself from too many volts and shutting down?

Over charging?
Thanks for the reply, that is a good theory. Do you think the after market battery I just put in could cause any issues, or are these cars pretty good with after market parts? I am new to this brand

I am do not use aftermarket parts on my vehicles. Only my old beater. But that is the way I am. I found with most equipment/heavy trucks OEM is tha way to go. You pay more ,but you might avoid a lot of headaches. I am only 8 months into my Genesis,so I am still kind of new to it as well. Good luck with your problems. Keep us posted.
