  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My wife only puts about 6K miles per year on a car...her new Genesis spends a lot of time in the garage...we call her cars the "Garage Queen"

On her old BMW we used to keep a battery charger (maintainer) Battery Tender Plus connected to the car.....it was recommended by BMW because of the low usage. It worked great.

Is anyone doing this on their Genesis? If so how do u have it hooked up?

On her old BMW we would just plug it into the cigarette lighter and it worked just fine.

I recently had to change my battery ( I went to the garage to start it up and absolutely nothing happened). Car was towed to the dealership and two days later I had my car back with a new Interstate battery. Mine also sets in the garage a lot. Even though it's got 20,000 miles and is two years old, 12,000 miles were a result of two trips. So mine sits as well. Our Vette also sits for days at a time. We typically don't have any problems with battery drainage as they start back up immediately. We just make sure that nothing is on and there is nothing in the cigarette lighters (like our phone chargers).
