What is interesting is that the Ontario license plate numbers are off by 1 digit. Are these manufacturer plates?

Nope, these are ordinary plates.

The numbers are off by one digit because we received the first 15 press vehicles for the media introduction at the same time. As such, we registered them all simultaneously. If memory serves, these units were plated BTVB 039 through BTVB 053. These two cars were in service in Ontario, but there are others scattered across Canada.

The brown one pictured above was actually sold to a dealer this week. The white one is still in service being loaned to the media. I actually put 1,000 km on the white one driving through the mountains in southern BC earlier this year. Lovely car.
