  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Lately my '09 3.8L Tech-DIS has been displaying some weirdness, a few electronics functions have been acting up.

- The lock/unlock button on the driver door is intermittently highly unresponsive, sometimes working immediately and sometimes needing many presses. Sometimes it'll finally unlock after many presses, so I'll open the door then it starts with the loooooong chime.
- The beltminder (seatbelt light) continues to flash on the cluster, and the belt chime is incessant cutting on and off like the sensor or piezo is glitching, and the resulting chime has no pattern or beat - it just dings wildly. Even with all belts engaged, the chiming will cease but the dash light continues to flash.
- Footwell and rear dome lights flickering, seems to be in "tune" with the beltminder chime, cutting in and out at the same time.
- The Auto AC stays primarily in Defrost mode, not dash mode when in full Auto mode. The only way I've found to force dash vents is to lower temps to LOW (i.e. below 65). If I step up even 1 degree from LOWest setting, dash vents turn off and auto-defrost kicks in again.

The fob battery is about 3 months old but maybe I should try to replace it again for [some of] these symptoms?

I was thinking this might be a fuse or fuse panel issue. Can anyone help comment on other possibilities?

Thanks

Are you talking about the button on the outside on the door handle? Lots of people have reported that those buttons wear out and the door handles need to be replaced. Owners should be warned to not press those buttons too hard (because they simply wear out over time) and/or use the keyfob (don't press keyfob buttons too hard either).

Yes thats the one and now that you mention it it does behave as if it were stuck pressed down.
