  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I want to buy a G70, but have no idea if now is a good time to do so... The dealer I have been working with doesn't negotiate and so I am curious what others that have bought the car would suggest. Are current prices good?

This is a funny question....

If you want the car and can afford it go for it. Is now a good time to buy? Well you could die tomorrow so there is that. Prices/inflation are always going up year to year so there is that. An asteroid could hit the world and end life anytime soo..... In 20 years the car will be cheap as hell but old/worn.

When is a good time to buy? Anything. Ever?

It's nevertheless an investment in a depreciating asset and if waiting a few months will result in considerable savings I'd hold out... Right now the price is $701 for 20k km a year for 5 years and a discount for being an Audi owner.

I’ve seen 3.3T Sports (used) for mid $40k’s up here in CAD already. Check out autotrader. There may be a deal out there for you depending on where you are. That’s $10k+ off MSRP new.

Sounds like you're interested in a lease. I don't know much about leases but can't see the rates varying that much. And of course with used cars as age & km increases cost decreases. Think of your opportunity cost holding out as well.

Maybe retitle this thread "Is this a good lease deal?"

Thanks for the suggestion, I made the change.

Where are you in Canada? When I got my G70 last Oct/Nov, the lease rate was at 1.4% plus I got the $1000 incentive for having a Cadillac. I also weighed getting the sport vs the Canadian Dynamic trim and decided to save $6,000 and get the Dynamic AWD 3.3.

Usually there are lots of options if you do your research and wait for the right time!

I'm in Ontario... What month was the lease rate at 1.4% out of curiousity? (it's currently 1.9%) Also, may I ask what your monthly payment is at 1.4% for the Sport?

I should also add that moving up to 24k km adds $20/month at the current rate...

I didn't get the Sport, I got the Dynamic. I don't recall when that lease rate started but I do believe it was at 1.9% then dropped to 1.4%. Maybe in October. It's about $650.
