  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,I just bought a 2015 5.0 htrac with 8000 kms for$34000 cdn. Next day called closest dealer to swap warranty they said come in it will be $50.Was on Hyundai site saw it was free to transfer over warranty so I did it that way.Next day went out floored it, car cut out at 52-5500 rpm. every time {3}.Phoned dealer they said bring it in at 8;30 and do I want to wait,I said sure. I got there at 8:20 and went to wait in lounge area looking out at my car.AT 10:10 the rep came and said they were done and there was nothing they could do because it was a factory setting and that was what the scan told them . I thought to myself scan? I have been looking at the car and nobody touched it and also that maybe I looked Away for a minute. So I said why would the redline be 6400 then?He said that is how they set it.I said it is really violent when it does it and you should drive it,he looks at his clip board and says the tech did.I point to my car and say it hasn't moved. He turns red and says just a sec and I follow him back to service where he disappears and then a mech comes out angrily and gets in my car in coveralls and is gone for 25 mins .Once around the block and you know there is a problem. Then the rep says I am right and it should go to redline and he will talk to tech Canada. That was a week ago..Are these cars lemons?$ 34000 and I don't evan want to drive it.Should I dump it? Thanks

Was the car fully warm when you floored it?

I can understand your being upset, but don't bail out just yet. Perhaps the dealer is not the best, perhaps there is a problem, but that does not mean it won't be rectified. The dealer rep either lied or made some error. If you do not get satisfaction you should go up the ladder directly to Genesis. At least now the dealer knows you pay attention. Are there other dealers you can go to?

You bought a really good car. Once straghtened out, I think you will be happy with your purchase.

Yes the car was warm.I have read that the issue could be with the fuel lines.Really did not like the dealership experience. This site is fantastic and thanks for the input

If you have any other dealerships close by, i'd bring it to them... sometimes a dealership can ruin someones experience. =/

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Sounds like a bummer of a way to start off your ownership, but I agree that once things are figured out, youll be more than pleased with your purchase. Especially at that price/miles!!! I also agree that dealerships vary ALOT.

Thanks to all of you .I want to stay with the dealer because they are close. I love the car and hope they do something soon.

There have been several people with the same symptoms in their car...turned out to be collapsing fuel lines that were starving the motor. Unless you drove it hard you would never know an issue existed.

Why do the car companies always act like they have never heard about a problem when you just have to google it? I don"t intend to run it hard but 5500 rpm once in a while is fun . That sudden fuel starvation surely is harmful to the car.

The poster says there have been SEVERAL people with the same symptoms. In my book that is from two to five. Is that something dealers should be aware of? Then you say all you have to do is google it. Have you tried googling Hyundai or Genesis fuel starvation or collapsing fuel lines. Do tell us how many references you found and a dealer would find.

celltech said several people have had this problem not me .My Dodge had an issue that the whole world new about but not the dealer.I think if there is one car with collapsing fuel lines the dealer should recall all the cars and fix the problem. if you google it you will find the car has 110 electrical issues. In my book that is a lemon.
