  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi,

I got my Door handles / mirrors wrapped. The guy said he'd love to do the grill black, Is this possible? He said he can do it but he hasn't taken the front off does the sensor piece come off to paint the grill underneath that you see behind the plastic? Curious how it'd be possible.

The sensor cover has the plastic grill embedded into it...so nothing behind it.

So no...not possible unless you some how get an all black sensor cover.

Ah okay makes sense, I did see after making this that a few people have tinted theirs without any negative effects so i guess that'd be the only option :( sucks as I'd prefer a different look.

I vinyl coated my cover. The way I understand is the RF signal of the cruise control can pass anything but a metal tint. I am not getting any lights on the dash. I haven’t tried the cruise control yet but I don’t really use it so I don’t care if it works or not. But I could be wrong, but I’m happy with the way it came out.

Have you had any of the crash alerts? Where the car will alert you that you're about to hit anything? Not too important but it did save me a few months ago so it would be nice to have for sure

I just got it put on this week. So I don’t know, it’s a second car for me . So I don’t drive it much. But I’ve driven 40 years without a crash alert , I think I’ll be ok. I just didn’t want any lights on the dashboard.

What does it look like without the cover on radar??
I'm not loving that look. It looks like something fell off the grill.. If you could get that radar spot matched with the rest of horizontal grill I think that front end would be awesome.

I’m told you have to take off the bumper. Also the stripes are painted on the cover so you would have no stripes going across where the cover was. Your only other choice is just leave it alone. The cover looks like crap wrapped or unwrapped.

I wanted to take the cover off also, but it was too much trouble to take it off. Also if I did take it off and it didn’t work without the stripes on the cover. So I went with just covering it. It looks better than putting the front license plate back on. The front plate is only a fixit ticket, which I doubt I’ll ever get one. Kinda like tinted windows, not a big deal in Cali.
