  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking to purchase a 2014 Genesis sedan. I would like a black exterior and cashmere interior but finding those to be hard to locate. For anyone who has the black on black, how miserably hot is it in the summer? Also does the black leather hold up over time or start showing wear lines. I have found that wear usually shows quicker on the black then on a light color.

Thanks

I did not find the black seat to be all that bad but I do live north of you a few miles. After 38,000 miles they still looked good too. Given a choice I'd like the cashmere interior to but they seem to be rare. The black would not be a deal breaker for me.

If you find one with a good ceramic tint job (or are willing to have one done for about $350), then the black interior should be no problem. Also get a windshield sun reflector, since tinting the front windshield is usually not allowed.

I have the rspec so 100% black inside (white outside). I am pretty OCD so I wipe, clean, brush off stuff all the time as the black shows everything. i use the Meguiars interior detailer in matte and it works perfectly. The interior looks brand new other than the drivers seat is a bit loose where my large rear sits...ha
No rips or wear marks at all. I am very impressed with how everything is holding up.
At nearly 89k miles as of now.

And yes like Mark said, get the best ceramic tint you can.
