  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Blank Instrument Cluster

On the other hand a bad connection would not explain my experience where at least to this point the cluster turns on without doing anything in usually less than a minute nor why there were no issues at all until the airplay update. I filed a complaint on the NHTSA website, amazingly there were no prior reports, so perhaps now we will get some answers.

I will file one also. Do you have link to website?

Just found this thead but I think I also have this issue. I experienced a blank instrument cluster screen on my 2023 GV60 (picked up in 2022). The car was parked outside for a day and I moved it into the garage. I was in a rush to the airport so I didn’t think much of it during my 30 second drive. But when I went back to the car to do a double take, the cluster was working. I’ll have to check it once I get back but not liking what I’m reading so far.

Here is the link. Report a Safety Problem | NHTSA got a reply that said it may take a few days for the complaint to appear. Good luck all, hopefully this will get someone's attention!

Here's another attempt to make a correlation with the cluster problem.

For those who have experienced the cluster blackout problem, which Vehicle System Version software do you have?:

23.12.1 or 24.11.1 ??

You can find the version on the Setup/General screen at the very bottom of the list of various application software versions.

24.11.1 for me. BTW, in the shop today getting ICCU update and still nothing at all official from Genesis on the black screen issue. All my (knowledgeable head tech) knows is that the replacement clusters are on backorder. Also confirmed that the cluster did not return any error codes...but on the drive over my cluster was out for half the ride, longest ever. I played around with the button that changes what the cluster displays and the cluster illuminated a few moments later. Cause and effect, who knows.

There is a posting on the GV70 saying that the display just disappeared. I wonder if there was not something in the update that is causing the problem. Still, 🤞 I have not had it happen as yet.

Probably unrelated, but - I have noticed a delay on the driver-side camera "activating". So I'll get an alert about parking-sensor/something not available. It does come on eventually, and I think if I turn the power on and wait just a bit, it comes on... but greater than 50% of the time, it does not work right after power-on.

Yea, I have the same issue.

I haven't seen any posts from 2025 owners or 2023 owners with this problem except for the 2023 owner that had his cluster with a different issue. I think there was a bad lot of display clusters that made its way into 2024's.
i’ve got a 2023 and I have the problem as well. heading to the dealership tomorrow and expect to learn absolutely nothing but I’m going to give it a shot.

Let us know what you hear. Also suggest you report to NHTSA using link I gave above.

thanks, I'll do that now.

dealer kept the car and gave me a loaner, so they could (hopefully) duplicate the problem. I don't think it's going to be cold enough in south carolina tomorrow morning for them to do that, so maybe I'll be driving an ICE G70 into the weekend? we'll see.

Thanks, seems crazy that the dealer could not tap into a Genesis database to see that this is a known issue with an official response even if "under investigation" or the like. That's why the reporting to NHTSA is so important! That being said, others who have reported the issue have eventually been told the fix is a new cluster so one would think the service people have some intel to go on as that's a big job. In my case, the service people found nothing wrong but based on my report alone ordered a new cluster.

This is not a temperature dependent fault. Yesterday it was in the 60's here all day and the cluster never came on in 4 quick trips around town. It happens at all temps in a seeming random manner. Supposedly, our new cluster is arriving around December 29th. They are backordered due to a shortage evidently.
