  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I get the “bsd canceled” message frequently. Happens when the car is clean and the weather is clear. Happens when the BSD button is turned on or when it is turned off. The only way to clear the alert is to turn off the car. The alert covers the entire dashboard screen and won’t go away. I took my 2015 Genesis to two different dealers. They both told me they can’t fix it because “they can’t recreate the issue and there are no error codes”. I contacted Hyundai customer care. After wasting hours of my life, they also said there is nothing they can (or are willing) to do. I know this is a known issue because it is all over the forums. It affects not only Genesis but all Hyundai vehicles with this piece of crap BSD feature. Buyer beware!!!

I get the same issue. It’s consistently happening. After driving like 30 min on the hwy. super clean car. Still happens.

Sounds like time to see the dealer. Hope they can troubleshoot or duplicate it.

I ad same issues when taking to dealerships and now have got the runaround from Hyundai - Mine is with a Santa Fe and I have pics that i sent them of message at many different mileage levels..Hyundai just said sorry out of warranty - even when pics show it happening as soon as 35K Miles..Sounds like a defect in BSD systems they use...Anyone complained to BBB ? I am thinking of that?

have you noticed it happening when you are around specific vehicles?

my parking sensors and BSD go crazy when ever I am near any Ford vehicles with the same features, I suspect that Hyundai and Ford are using systems form the same suppliers that are on the same or close to the same frequencies.

I'll also state that I have opened the rear hatch of 2 different Toyota Sienna vans with my smart card by walking by them. At first I though the owner was using their remote nearby, but when I walked back later in the evening the rear hatch opened again, so I walked back and forth a few times and as I approached it would open and as I went out of range it would close.

Same issue with my 2016 Azera ( 8400 miles ) . Dealer says the issue's in my "operation" of the system. What.. I push the button wrong?

Just happened to me today for the first time in 3 years of having the car. Only turning the car on/off fixed it...but, for how long will it last?

Guys. Try this. You need to drive on an empty road. For about 45 min and min speed 100km/hr or 60m/hr. Then it will happen. If you don’t pass any car. It will happen. I can reproduce it anytime I want. I am in Canada and in the MB. So easy to do here. Most highways prettty empty.
I contacted Hyundai Canada. Then said it’s by design. Which is very stupid.

I just had the problem occur on my 2018 Santa Fe ultimate earlier this week. it was raining pretty heavy at the time. I called blue-link and they scheduled me an appointment but after talking to the dealer they said it was weather related issue because the cameras couldn't see properly. When i got home i shut the car off and restarted it and it appears to be working again. The vehicle has 37k on it so i doubt it will be covered by warranty.

I have a 2017 G80 and got this message for the first time today when I was in heavy Houston traffic. I believe it will clear itself when I turn the car off. I’ve had it for 5 yrs, only owner. This is my 3rd genesis sedan. Absolutely luv them!!

This problem just started in my 2014 Santa Fe Sport. It’s happened several times now. My car has over 138,000 miles on it. But I can tell you this I will never own another Hyaudai ever. Bought this car brand new. Ive had to have the engine replaced bc they put faulty engines in the Santa Fe’s and Sonata’s that year. Thank goodness they got sued bc I wouldn’t have gotten it replaced for free bc my car had over 100,000 miles. The dealership probably wouldn’t have told me that if I hadn’t researched it. I’ve had recall after recall since I’ve had this car. I have paid out 3000 in a year to replace stearing column and the wastegate which had to be replaced twice in the past 3 years. The paint is chipping off. Never had that happened with my Toyota or Honda. Never will I ever have a white car again bc the body repair shop told me white and silver cars will do that but the white Honda I had never did that and it had over 250,000 miles on it when I trade it in but I bought that car in the late 90’s but ever since then other people have said there white Honda’s paint chipped off too. Supposedly white cars only have one coat of paint on them.

So anyway glad you have had good luck with your Genesis.

I have one of those Sonata's with the faulty engines. I've had 2 engines replaced! One at 89,000 miles and one at 122,000 miles. Both replaced for free, than goodness. Now, at 138,000 miles, the BSD cancelled light just started coming on for the first time since owning the car. Beyond frustrated!

BSD Canceled, Just happened on my 2017 Azera for the first time, really hard rain storm, 190K on vehicle, original owner. Never had this happen before, seems like a sensor issue to me. I guess I will monitor it and see if it continues to be an issue or not.

I just had this happen to my 2015 genesis. The message cleared after a while but the sensor still did not work. I stopped to eat and when I started the car again the blind spot monitoring was working again. The message came back on a little while later. Both times the message came up I was using cruise control. I shut the cruise control off and the blind spot monitoring started working again. Coincidence? I don’t know.
