  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bling Valve Stem Caps -- Couldn't Help Myself

I was expecting Genesis caps, which I kinda like... but that diamond thing is real "bling".

These are cheaper...

I have these but carbon fiber i bought 2 sets theyre really 👌

Nice! I've got to find something other than the green plastic ones my tires came with.

I had some branded aluminum caps on my G37, took the car to Discount Tire one day for a rotation, it came back with the cheap grey plastic caps they use. When I asked where my caps were they denied any knowledge of them. A search of the shop showed nothing. Even the tech to did the job denied it (I still wonder if he drove an Infiniti).

Lesson learned: remove them before tire work.

It's off the CHAIN son

Also, before anyone says anything, that was yesterday. I did wash the car this morning, and cleaned up the wheels.

Right, so here's the coincidental truth: I actually went to this site's Genesis store, specifically to BUY those caps, because I remembered they were on there. For some reason, they are no longer stocked.

So I went to Amazon to find them. Which of course they had. But then...I noticed the bling caps in the "customers who looked at this also looked at: " section...and then I was powerless to not buy them.

Well, I bought too, last night... and for the Infiniti, too - but resisted the urge for the dazzling bling - went with the boring OEM...

Damnn.. big tech predicted you perfectly.. thats scary.

My dealer wanted $4,276 each for those... do you think that is too much?
Not at all. The trace amounts of helium lift the car off the road a bit and improve performance. Tires are unsprung weight so lightening them helps acceleration.

Just know those green caps indicate tires are filled with nitrogen.. and if you change the caps and ever get wheel service done REMEMBER TO NOTIFY THE MECHANIC they are filled with nitrogen.
Good point, thank you! Although, normal breathing air is like 75 percent nitrogen, so I guess it's the difference between 75 percent nitrogen and 100 percent! Nevermind, should have read the rest of the thread before replying.
