Isn’t there one by default?
That's what I thought in reading up on BOV's. If the only benefit is the sound...definitely not for meLike most modern turbocharged cars, the G70 uses a recirculating bypass valve and not an atmospheric blow-off valve. Because the car uses MAP sensors and not MAF sensors there's no major risk in converting to atmospheric, but there would be a theoretical hit to throttle response because the car needs to rebuild air charge rather than use what's being recirculated. Really the only reason to do this is the "pssshhhh" sound on shifts.
In previous cars you could accomplish more sound by removing the baffles in the intakes, allowing actual turbo sounds to exist. Wonder if the same could be done in our car, darth Vader g70 anyone?![]()
Hey Showexc, how have you liked having these on your ride?I ordered the GFB dual tms respons kit and it was pretty straight forward install, took about 30 minutes or so. The thing I like about these are is they are adjustable for venting to atmosphere or re-circulation. IMO best of both worlds, not to mention adds a nice touch to the engine bay!
Here's a little trick for you:Hey Showexc, how have you liked having these on your ride?
Any issues with it?
Overall did you achieve the desired sound you were going for with them?
Do You Know if they made one for the 2.0t yet? if yes, where can i find oneHey all! I've been wanting to get a BOV for my 3.3T, not sure if there is one made yet or not sure what fits?
