  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just discovered that I had an option turned on that tracked my movements on the nav map, with blue dots. The more I used the road the more dots there were. Cheaters beware. You mate would be able to look at the map and see where you have been. There is an option in the menus to turn it off.

As far as I can tell, turning it "off" is only turning the display of the dots on the GPS map off. The nav still records the position of position fixes over the last 100km. Only selecting the clear option erases the data, and you'll still have to erase it constantly.

While it can say where the car has been, it doesn't say when it was there.

This feature does come in handy... My girlfriend and I used it a couple times when driving around back roads into different towns checking out houses.

How do you clear the dots though? Sometimes its nice too have a clean map.

One day, I had the dots (breadcrumbs) switched on in error (Tech Pkg). Had a heck of a time finding the screen to remove them.

OK, I spent a few minutes looking for the correct menu to clear those blue dots and couldn't find it. So, can you help me?

NAVI Menu button > Settings > Map Display > Show Position Tracking (toggle on/off) > push controller right toward the arrow > Reset Tracking Memory > select

Reset works wonders with the paranoid girlfriends (wives) :D

When you go into the map menu and see the tracking on/off selector(not sure what the exact term was), move the DIS knob to the right and it'll pop up another sub menu where you can select the 'clear tracking record'(again, not the exact terminology).

Good luck,

Dan

UNBELIEVABLE! In two minutes I had it fixed. Thanks so very much. It's of great comfort to know that there lies a guardian angel out there to help us neophytes with problems.
Now, about that apple pie recipe, what kind of apples?.......
