  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm disappointed with the Bluelink. The remote start is a crap shoot, especially in the morning or during bad weather. The other day I tried to use the Google find feature and kept getting a network error.

Anyone else notice this?

Sometimes the BlueLink didn't start the car, but it was only few times and before the updates , now it starts 100% every time. Regarding the Google find feature it's not really working for me too. As you have to be a mile radius with the car and even I was, it couldn't find it. So if I need to find it in huge parking lot, I start the car and look for flashing lights or I can send a signal command to car.
I didn't experience issues when is bad weather or morning or evening hours?
What does it do when it doesn't start ?
It sends you some type of error? Did you tried to make a calendar event with location where you have to be , and BlueLink sent you a notification that you have to leave house if you want to be on time? And depends on weather it offers to cool down or heat up the car?
What app you are using ? And for what model of car? You know there is 2 BlueLink apps ?

Yes, the car has to be locked and parked outside , it won't start in garage for example. I never tried to start in garage, but that's what BlueLink manual says. And the car has to be used, and driven. If it's sits longer than 6 days I guess , could be 5 or 7 don't remember exactly. It won't start from BlueLink as well. The manual says the car has to be parked outside recently driven, doors locked, and put in P position with Parking brake on for manual transmission

The Genesis application says that it was a success, but an email comes later:
Remote service is currently unavailable. Your request for REMOTE START on MM/DD/20YY HH:MM pm CST was not processed. Please try again later.
The trouble is that sometimes it take a while for the email to filter through my ISP.

But does the car starts? My Genesis app says it was success right away, but the whole process takes at least a 30-40 sec and then I have confirmation in email or you can put that they send you a text message as well.

I have both the bluelink and genesis app installed on my galaxy s5. Have had no issues with either of them. I use the genesis app mainly now and had the notifications turned off. I start it from my office and set the temp and defrost and when I walk outside its running. Has every time, even though I have had the car a week.

I do the same :) when I am up in my apartment, I turn it on , and cool it down , by the time I am down its already nice and cold inside. Only had scared my neighbors few times, they didn't expect to be near the car and no one around and it's suddenly starts [emoji23]
Also had my neighbors knocking on my door , yelling that I forgot to shut down the car LOL :)

You know the old ladies not used to this type of technology, and everyone who goes to our apartment complex swimming pool has to walk near my car. And I've been told by them, son, you just bought that car and it's already breaking down , it's starts suddenly and flashes the lights , you should fix it while you can [emoji23]

I am having trouble finding the calender feature. How or where do I set calender events so I can get a reminder and start my car before I go?

in Genesis app you don't have to do nothing. In your calendar make a event and add location and let the map find it, then add the location and add driving time to it. Let the map also calculate the driving time. That's it, from there the Genesis app will take care of it :)

Got it, thank you. Did a locate my car first then put in the destination in the event and it calculated everything.

Great, I have added my address as home , so it finds automatically:) very convenient. And you can set remainder as well let's say 15 minutes before driving time or 1 hours before event. I guess it's also calculates the time from current traffic condition so the driving time might change if the traffic is heavier or vice versa :)

That's the one I use. The issue doesn't seem to be with the app, but with the satellite sending the signal to the car.

I will have to check out the messaging feature, email can be too slow.
