  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a V8 with Tech package and I really have been enjoying the car. I have been frustraded with my Treo disconnecting (interupted) every 5 to 20 minutes. It will reconnect within a minute. I have noticed it will stay connected while the phone is in use. I went to Sprint repair center and they said they have heard their is a issue with the Genesis. They, ordered me a new phone but the new phone does exactly the same thing. Any comments or help?

That's not good... I have the Palm Centro (also through Sprint), but have not had a chance to get it paired yet with my Genesis. I will try tomorrow and let you know if I experience the same issue. Have you checked the BlueConnect website (http://www.jciblueconnect.com) to see if your Treo is compatible? I checked yesterday (after reading the manual) and the Centro is listed as compatible.

This subject has been beat to death in other threads. First thing to check is the data mode on the phone. When it "calls home" to retrieve email, or other web services, some phones disconnect the bluetooth connection. When the web query is done and the phone is jsut sitting there, it reconnects. Kind of sounds like your problem. Also, Blue Connect is the third party bluetooth soulution for cars OTHER than the Tech Package.

I thought the issues you bring up could be the reason for the disconnect. I took the new phone from Sprint and did nothing to it, no programing or re-sync, except paired the phone. A few moments later I get the disconneted message. BTW, do you know who is the third party solutions company for the tech package. Thanks

As far as I know, there entire DIS is integrated & supported by Harmon/Becker. That's why it's so expensive to change the thing out [4K], and why some folks are concerned it only carries the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty.

I have 2 Treo's (755p and 700p) from VZW and they do it. It has to do with what was mentioned above, the Email sync. I took it in and had the T63 (or whatever its called) update to the Tech Package that took 3+ hours, still does the same thing.

Its annoying to see the screen every 3-4 minutes, but only rarely has anyone ever called while disconnected and it become a problem.

Ok...for some reason my Gen has started this.

EXEPT...it does it during phone calls as well. This morning I was on the phone with the wife while she was driving to work and all the sudden she didnt hear me anymore. She then began fumbling in her coat to get the phone and I was still connected but not through the bluetooth on the car.

Of course...the pregnant wife went nuts:eek: and says she wants her phone disconnected from the bluetooth feature immediately. I dont blame her. Obviously it has happened to her before while she was on the phone with friends but failed to tell me about it.

HOWEVER, as a future father and one who loves his wife and family more than life itself, safety becomes the issue. I dont want her holding her phone and driving.

Anywho, I dont have time at the moment to search a ton of threads so I figured I would bump this one.:o

This may just be another dealer issue to look at...

So today I went to Power Hyundai in Scottsdale AZ for my first service.
My NAV/Radio were fine. They tried to apply the T63 update and after three tries quit because the second DVD of 3 was rejected.
The technicians called Hyundai tech support all day and got no response from the tech people.
My radio is OK but NAV stoppd working and all works Verrrrry slooooowly.
They promise to get this fixed.
My beef is with Hyundai tech support.
What right do they have not to call back all day to a dealership needing help?
I called the consumer line and was told by the only person i oculd reach that he would call a regional manager- obviously a useless ploy.
I am really pissed. Hyundai national should have resources for dealeer service, and the dealer-Power Hyundai should ahve checked the system before releasing the car to me with inoperable NAV and no warning.
Not quite ready to give up on them, but if they want to play against the big boys, they will have to provide quality service.
