If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Does anyone have a Motorola Razr Maxx and is having trouble auto-connecting to the Bluetooth system in the Genesis? I have a 2013 and my phone only auto connects every OTHER time. I have tried everything and have re-paired the phone several times and the problem persists. I did not have this problem using the same phone in my 2011 Sonata. The dealer has no solutions, nor do Verizon or Motorola.
HELP!!

Hello! I wish I could be of help, but I am having similar issues. I have a 2010 Genesis sedan and I just purchased a Samsung Note 2, but it doesn't see the car when I scan for Bluetooth devices. My Droid Bionic has worked flawlessly for the past two years.

If I can't figure this out, the phone will have to go. Please help.

Thanks in advance!!!

Hello,
I have a Razor Maxx that is about 8 months old and it works fine for the connectivity.
I do have a problem as following..at highway speed the Bluetooth does not have enough volume to hear what the other person is saying. I even have adjusted the volume on the stereo and the phone to the max and the volume is still too low to hear.
FYI; I have the low end entry level stereo with no nav.

I get my 2013 Genesis 3.8 premium on Monday. I have the Razr Maxx. I'll try it for a while and let you know. This would be a key feature for me.

Is your phone up to the latest OS, i.e. Jelly Bean 4.1?

My droid maxx works excellent in my Genesis.

Hello Friend,
I too have the entry level stereo and Razor Maxx and do not have enough volume with no fix from Hyundai. I wonder if It is the phone or if I should get another phone?

To the guy without connectivity, sorry it seems fine for this.

I have a 2011 4.6 w/ Tech and a Razr Maxx. The car bluetooth never liked the phone. IT would connect and work for the most part, but would often disconnect for no apparent reason. Based on my testing I determined it must be the phone as I have not had this problem with HTC Droid 2, HTC Droid DNA or LG Nexus 4.

I also use a Blackberry Bluetooth Gateway connected to the Aux jack in the arm rest to get bluetooth audio. This setup worked flawlessly with my Droid 2 and Nexus 4. Not so much with the Razr Maxx. Constant drops and audio interference when both bluetooth connections active.

Probably wont buy Moto phone again.

2011 4.6 w/ Tech. 2 phones here - (old gen 1) Sanyo Katana and iPhone 5.

like mindhead's Razr, my katana will spontaneously disconnect without warning - but not predictably/consistently. oddly, iPhone has done the same, but even less consistently.

katana behavior is somewhat more predictable in areas where LTE stops & 3G kicks in ... so is the amount of processing required too much for the phone CPU? timing issue with phone drivers? heartbeat timeout to head unit & it boots the phone?

OK I've had the car for nigh unto 2 days, but probably but 300 miles on it in 7 sessions. Each time the Maxx connected to the BT just fine. I realize it's a small sample, but (knock on wood), so far so good. Sound quality on both ends has been good too.

This is a 2013 3.8 Premium package system, so YMMV.

Andrew,

Hopefully the newer model cars have resolved these Bluetooth issues. The tech in the Tech Pckg on my 2011 Genesis wasn't as advance as the tech in the Azera and Sonata of the same year. At least in terms of bluetooth.

Good luck and enjoy your ride!

I've got a '12 R Spec and a razzor. I've been thru 3 phones now because of other issues with the phone, not the car.

The first phone connected fine but latter on, some times it would connect and some times I had to turn it off then back on to get it to connect. Second phone I didn't have long. Third one seems to work fine and I've had no issues with it going on a year.

One odd issue I've seen (and I'm sure it's the phone) is that the Maxx shows that it's still connected to the car BT even if the car has been off for a while, as long as it's still in range (or maybe even out of range). If I turn my BT on and off it seems to realize there's no active BT speakerphone.

I generally turn my BT off when I leave the car anyway, so this isn't really a problem, but it's odd.
