If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I really hate for my first post ever on this forum to be "another bluetooth issue" but I just bought this beautiful Silver 2010 V6 Grand Touring Coupe and the bluetooth isn't working.

Here's the problem: When I press the voice button on the steering wheel it says something like "Say a name or number" and on the display it says "Listening". It then beeps and jumps right back to playing what ever is on XM or the Radio. If I press that button and say "Help" or "Setup" it just jumps right back to the radio/XM. If I say "0 0 0 0" it does the same thing. If I say "Delete All", again the same thing.

I've also tried using the "Setup" button on the radio itself to scroll through the bluetooth options (aka: ON/OFF, Return, Delete, Pairing, etc) and unfortunately get the same exact response.

I've tried speaking softly, normal and loudly. I've adjusted my seat a lot of different ways just in case I may be blocking the mike.

My phone is a Verizon Motorola Droid so I don't believe that to be an issue as I found the Hyundai "recommended bluetooth phones guide" and the Droid is on there. And I'm about 95% positive I'm doing this right (I'm following the quick start guide as well as the normal Owners Manual).

My only thought is that maybe the bluetooth unit in the car is confused and needs resetting. I have an appointment with the dealer this weekend so I've got that covered. I was just hoping someone might know of a trick that helped them that I could try so I can get it working now.

Oh, and this car makes me smile everywhere I go. It is a true joy to drive. It is by far the finest car I've owned yet. Our family now has a 2010 Genesis Coupe, 2009 Sonata GLS and 2004 Elantra. Nothing like keeping it all in the family.

Dealership called me and said they ran my VIN and the bluetooth recall/TSB has not been done on it yet. I hope this resolves the problem.

Dealer called and said the bluetooth in the radio just wasn't working even when they tried to do the TSB on it. They have ordered me a new radio.

The dealer finally got the radio installed yesterday and I'm quite happy to report the bluetooth is functioning perfectly. And, there is something I noticed about the sound of the radio. The bass is muuuch louder. Before I would have the bass up to about +3 to +4 depending on the material. But now I find I need to use -1 or 0.

Soledad,

Where do you find the "Hyundai Recommended Bluetooth Phones Guide"?

Reason I ask is that I am using a phone that is not sold in the US, however it works perfect with my car. Just want to check to see what the guide says.

They break the Compat Guide into the 3 entertainment systems: Regular Radio, Navigation and DIS

Thanks for the information. I have a Motorola SLVR L9. (An unlocked GSM Phone which can be used on AT&T or T-Mobil [plus other small GSM companies in the US] plus overseas where they all are on the GSM System vice the CDMA system of Verizon and Sprint). The list does show the "kissing cousin" to my phone, the SLVR L7, but not my L9. My L9 works perfect in the Genesis, and even though it is not listed in the list, the Tech Screen says that I am using an L9.

OK, getting a little off subject. I also have a perfectly good Motorola V400, however it is not Bluetooth. When I purchased my Genesis, I needed a Bluetooth phone, plus my V400 was starting to have a speaker problem and I had trouble hearing from it. I purchased my unlocked L9, removed the SIM Card from the V400, put it in the L9 and voila, all my information was in there. A few months later, I decided to get my V400 ear speaker fixed, so I took it to a place in Orlando. Not only did they replace the ear speaker, they also replaced the worn out face on the V400. In addition, they unlocked the phone, so I can also use any SIM Card in it, like I do with my L9. Did it while I waited, and charged me a very reasonable low price. Now, when I take my next trip to France and/or Italy, I will take both phones with me. Will keep my American SIM Card in the V400 for incoming calls from the US, and will get a French SIM Card with a French Phone Number for the L9 for use in Europe, incoming and outgoing calls for Europe, and outgoing calls to the USA.

The last two times I was in Europe, I had to use my V400 which was still locked, with my American SIM Card, and it cost me a fortune for the calls. (Both AT&T and T-Mobil charge $1.29 a minute, but give you a "break" of 99cents a minute if you pay them an extra $5.00 a month). Won't happen again. (At least, GSM Phones work in Europe, and all over the world vice the CDMA Phones of Verizon and Sprint which only work in the USA, and parts of Canada). (Don't even want to mention Nex-Tel which does not work anywhere outside the USA and even does not work any distance from major USA Cities and major highways - has anyone noticed that you very seldom hear that BEEP from those Nex-Tel walkie-talkie phones anymore?)

I looked in the DIS section and I do not see very many blackberries at all. The only spot my phone comes up in (Storm 2) is the first section with the hyundai audio systems...I don't think my phone is compatible at all although I can receive calls, but I cannot handle a call waiting event at all...none of the options on the prompt work...I hope they do a software update soon to correct that.

I just bought my genesis and I’m having this same problem. What would you suggest I do?

Storm 2 is 10 year old technology. They are going to update for it when they add the rotary dial phones.
