  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just got a new 2011 Genesis 4.6 and starting to go thru the manuals.

Is Bluetooth capable of handling 2 phones?

Can I set up my and my wife's phone so the system works no which of us drive the car?

Thanks for the help

Just pair both phones individually. One of the phones will have priority when they are both in the car, but both will work on their own just fine.

Weird. We tried that and is seems to want to make us choose which phone will work. We paired both, but it asked which was the phone we wanted selected. I picked mine and then had one of the kids call my wife. The bluetooth didn't respond to her phone, only mine. What are we doing wrong?

It is my impression that more than one phone can be paired with the car, but only one can be bluetoothed (is that even a word?) at a time.

You also choose a default phone. For instance, both my husband's and my phone are paired to the car, but since I'm the primary driver of the car, my phone is set as the default. If we both get in the car with our phones, it will connect with my phone. We can go to the phone menu and manually switch which phone is connected if we want to use his phone.

Hope that helps-NOLa

That seems correct, but in my cousin's Lexus, IIRC, they can pair more than one phone. Incoming calls to either p[hone will be picked up by the bluetooth.

Not a big deal, as I drive the Genisis 99% of the time, but I was just wondering...

As others said, multiple phones can be "known" to the Genesis bluetooth systems but only one will be "active" at a time. It won't "switch" to whatever phone happens to have an incoming call either. This is how my 2009 Tech works, and how the ceiling mounted bluetooth unit in my folks' Azera works as well - their car has the same module that replaced the ceiling mounted sunglasses holder in some Genesis versions.

Note: on some non-Tech Genesis models, the bluetooth may connect to your phone even when the cars is parked and shut OFF! There is another thread about this - a bit of a goof in the bluetooth implementation. So if your phone suddenly seems to not work at home... see if your car has taken over!

Does the Genesis 2011 pair with the new Nexus S with Android 2.3 operating system?
