  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

First time posting, recently purchased a 2010 Genesis Sedan 3.8L with Premium Pkg. Black Ext. with Saddle Interior. Just "rebadged" and am completely in love with this car!

I do need some help though...

I am attempting (and failing) to set up my phone to work with the BT system. I was able to pair the phone just fine. When I press the "phone" button on the steering wheel, the system prompts me for a "name" or "number". I can tell it the digits to call ("six, one, five, etc.) and it dials just fine. I JUST can’t figure out how to access a menu that allows me to set up "names" like "home"... is this a feature I don’t have as part of the Premium package? I see the owner’s manual references a "voice recognition button" on the steering wheel, but I have a Mute button where that appears to be.

Any suggestions or references to prior posts that I should read?

Thanks in advance.

Did you get the premium navigation system? If so there is another manual that has all the bluetooth info. It is the "Digital AVN System User's Manual. I'm uncertain as to the bluetooth system outside of the premium nav. I'm sure someone will know and help you. Good Luck and enjoy the new Genesis :D

I do not have a Nav susyem, just the Premium Package. Any help from the group is appreciated!

So, I think I figured out that the Bluetooth system will try to match up a name with a contact entry in my phone. Does that sounds correct?

If I understand things correctly, you don;t "teach" the BT system what name to associate with a phone number, instead it tried to match your voice to a contact entry on your phone?

That is correct the contact list downloads from your phone. When you use handsfree dialing it tries to match to a name on your contact list. Sometimes it works pretty good other times it can be a bit of an adventure. You can also dial a number by voice.
